BVN Registration: In other News...
Before the postponement of BVN Registration was announced by CBN, alot of Nigerians do not understand what the BVN is all about (even this moment), there was this last minute rush. A number of people who on seeing the crowd and realizing that after today, they will not be able to access their accounts, they left the BVN line, queued up in the ATM line and those whom accounts has large sums picked withdrawal slips with the aim of emptying their Accounts sharp!! sharp!!!
Don't try to threaten a Nigerian with money, they are way smarter lol! They always always have a way out.

The BVN enrollment was earlier billed to expire on Tuesday, 30th June, 2015, but due to the millions of Nigerians that are yet to carry out the process, the CBN has pushed forward the deadline.

FG appoints Mordecai Ladan as Director of DPR
According to a statement on the website of the DPR dated June 19, 2015 stated that Mr. Mordecai Danteni Baba Ladan has been appointed Director of the Department of Petroleum Resources, the appointment is with immediate effect.
He is to take over from Mr. George Osahon whose tenure elapsed June 19, 2015 after a two-year tenure.
Ladan, according to the statement, is a Petrochemist by profession, who joined DPR on November 23, 1987 as a Senior Analytical Chemist and was deployed to the Safety & Environment Branch under the then Technical Services Division.
The

“Mr. Ladan is highly accomplished both professionally and academically; he is Fulbright Scholar (Hubert H. Humphrey, North-South Fellow) where he bagged a Certificate in Environmental & Regulatory Policy / Public Affairs June 1991. M.Sc. Petrochemicals & Hydrocarbon Chemistry from the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology, United Kingdom March 1986.
“He also has a B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria July 1982; West African School Certificate – Federal Government College, Kano June 1978. He was born on the 24th of June 1957 and is married with children.
Osahon, the immediate past Director of the DPR was appointed June 19, 2013, for a two-year renewable tenure, making him the first Director in DPR to be appointed on such terms.
It was reported that Osahon had, few days to the end of his tenure, turned in a letter giving notice of the expiry of his tenure.

Some relief! Gov Rauf Aregbesola Begins Payment of Workers Salaries
Reports have it that Ogbeni Rauf is paying his workers two to three months salary. But the state NLC said he should start from five months worth of salary before they can call off the strike.

Update on Ikorodun Banks Robbery: Woman led the Robbery gang + witnesses recount
According to reports from Punch Metro;
“AREa, Zico come and see money. See money wey we dey look for,” screamed one of the robbers.
In a jiffy, the robbers packed about N20m said to have been arranged for loading into the Automated Teller Machines at a Zenith Bank branch in Ebute-Ipakodo in Ikorodu, Lagos, on Wednesday morning.
A bank official, who narrated how the
robbery took place, said the ecstasy displayed by the robbers was only
comparable to “what you see when a footballer scores a decisive goal.” As some of the gang members held
everyone in bank hostage while looting additional cash from the
strong room, others were doing the same at the First Bank branch in the

EFCC probes Ex-Governor Akpabio over alleged N108.1bn fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has begun investigation into alleged theft of N108.1billion of Akwa Ibom funds by former Governor Godswill Akpabio.The action followed a petition forwarded to the commission by an Abuja-based lawyer and activist, Leo Ekpenyong.Mr. Ekpenyong had on June 8 petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari and the EFCC, calling for Mr. Akpabio’s probe and accusing him of looting Akwa Ibom state treasury.
Investigations showed that several other indigenes
of the state who have demanded the investigation of the former governor,
have been invited by the EFCC to adopt their petitions. On his part, Mr. Ekpenyong was summoned on Wednesday, June 17, to
adopt his petition and provide more details to some of the allegations
he made against Mr. Akpabio.
Another Robbery at Ikorodun Banks Despite Police Dragnet
Despite the heavy presence of the police and some men of the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy, the notorious armed robbery gang terrorising the Ikorodu area of Lagos struck again on Wednesday, and succeeded in robbing two banks.
After holding the Ebute Road, at the Ogolonto area of Ikorodu hostage
for about an hour, and robbing two second generation banks, the armed
robbery gang escaped. Numbering about 10, the heavily armed gang was said to have executed
their act in a Gestapo-type operation that saw them cover their targets
successfully, aiding their escape.
