Rivers State: Gov. Nyesom Wike appoints Chief Judge, reinstates sacked lecturers

 

For months. the Judiciary arm has been non functional Rivers state following some political unrest during the Rotimi Amaechi's administration.


The newly sworn-in Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has announced the appointment of Justice Daisy Okocha as the Chief Judge of the state.

Wike made the appointment after being sworn-in by the Chief Judge of Bayelsa state, Justice Kate.
Wike also directed that all the state owned courts which has been under lock be opened with immediate effect.
