Buhari swaps into action as he announces Military Command to relocating to Maiduguri

President Buhari revealed during his inaugural speech that, “The command centre will be relocated to Maiduguri and remain until Boko Haram is completely subdued. Jonathan tell Buhari: If You Must Probe, Extend it Beyond My Administration

President Goodluck Jonathan has told the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, that if he must probe, such probe should be extended beyond his administration.

He equally described as sabotage, the recent oil marketers’ and labour unions' strike that almost brought the nation to its knees.

Buhari on Fuel Subsidy & Scarcity Issues: “I Will Try and Find Out What Went Wrong”

President-elect Muhammadu Buhari speaking out about the current fuel issues Nigeria is facing.

Here are excerpts from a recent interview he had with Daily Trust:

One burning issue is fuel subsidy. I believe you are aware of the queues in major cities like Lagos and Abuja. The fuel importers say they are unsure of the direction of the new government in this area. Have you considered maintaining or withdrawing this subsidy or are you questioning whether it didn’t exist at all?

One of the problems I have, other than the military, is the petroleum industry where I served for three and a half years under General Obasanjo. When people start talking about this subsidy I honestly get confused. I will tell you this, and I hope it will answer what you want to know. Back then we had a refinery in Port Harcourt, which was refining 30,000 barrels a day of Nigerian crude.

Fuel Scarcity: Ifeanyi Ubah to the rescue, to release 13 million litres of fuel

There may finally be some temporary succour for Nigerians in the face of the severe fuel scarcity prevalent in the country.

While other depot operators and oil marketers have refused to sell petroleum products until their outstanding subsidy claims of over N200billion is paid by the Federal Government, Capital Oil and Gas Industries Limited, says it is releasing 70 million litres of petroleum products into the market.

Nigerian Military Court acquits Commander accused of failing to stop Boko Haram

The brigade commander of the 23 Armoured Brigade in Yola, Adamawa State, Victor, Ebhaleme, has been acquitted by a general court martial holding at the 9 brigade officer’s mess, Ikeja cantonment.

Mr. Ebhaleme, a colonel, was accused of failing to ensure that support weapons approved for units under his brigade were collected.

The President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, has again commended President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat at the March 28 polls.

Mr. Buhari, who gave the commendation in Abuja on Thursday when he received Nigerien President Issoufou Mahamadou, said Mr. Jonathan’s action turned around Nigeria’s nervous political process.

He said: “The Nigerien president purposely came to congratulate me on my victory and President Jonathan for the maturity and statesmanship that he exhibited by accepting that he had lost the election.

PDP confirms Mu’azu’s resignation, appoints Uche Secondus Acting Chairman

 

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has formally confirmed that its National Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, has resigned from his position with immediate effect.

The spokesperson for the party, Olisa Metuh, who confirmed the resignation to journalists in Abuja, said Mr. Mu’azu resigned to continue to attend to his health.
“The National Chairman went through the party primaries and campaigns in spite of some health challenges. Immediately after the election, he travelled abroad for medical attention,” Mr. Metuh said.

Tony Anenih explains why he resigned as BoT Chairman

 

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Tony Anenih, has said his resignation Wednesday, was to allow President Goodluck Jonathan take over the position. Mr. Anenih had earlier resigned his position citing the current state of affairs in the party as his reason. 

In a one-page letter President Goodluck Jonathan, the leader of the party, Mr. Anenih said his decision to quit would enable the president to effectively assume the chairmanship of the BoT.

The letter dated May 20, 2015 and titled: “Notice of my decision to step down as Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party.”

Anenih resigns as Chairman of PDP Board of Trustees

Anenih’s resignation was announced in a statement signed by national secretary of the party, Professor Adewale Oladipo.

Clayton asked participants specific questions about how often they log in, tweet, scroll through their feed, send direct messages, and reply to followers.
