From early results trickling in, the All Progressives Congress appears to be in a clear lead in the South-west geo-political zone of the country.

The main opposition party is winning in 5 out of the 6 states in the South-West zone, Osun, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo and Oyo, while the Peoples Democratic Party has taken Ekiti state.
